Biography

When Mabel Pilar Manyari walked into the room, those in her company felt energy and an enthusiastic spontaneity. Mabel was a clever and gregarious person who always sought out the finest attributes in other people. It was as if Mabel wanted to share all of their experiences, revel in their lives and celebrate their discoveries. While some who knew Mabel might describe her as an idealist, her friends and family understood well that Mabel was always in pursuit of life’s endless possibilities and opportunities available to her. These traits served Mabel well in her adult life and, along with her wit, outgoing personality, and understanding of others, drew in the admiration of many who knew her.

Mabel was born on March 4, 1955 in Lima, Peru to Filiberto Medina and Maria Manyari. She was raised with 11 siblings, three older brothers: Filiberto, Luis Antonio, Manuel, five older sisters: Blanca, Gladys, Ines, Isabel, Irma and three younger sisters: Carmela, Maritza and Haydee. She grew up with a wild sense of humor and was always ready with a good joke.

For Mabel, parenting was a particularly enjoyable and a pleasurable part of her life. Mabel's skill at understanding her children's feelings, her sensitivity to their needs, and her gift of gentle persuasion enabled her to find solutions to any problem.

Mabel loved to have a variety of activities in her life, including, but not limited to, collecting jewelry, finding fashionable clothes, shopping for her grandchildren, party planning, coordinating and decorating. What she loved most, was spending time with her loving, caring friends and dancing the night away.
Mabel had a knack for being able to multi-task in order to create time for all of her favorite pastimes. She loved animals and cherished her pets, especially Precious who was her trusty companion for ten years.

There was always a certain style and inventiveness to Mabel. She was dynamic, self-expressive and was forever looking to celebrate the endless possibilities life had to offer.
