Margaret Virginia Race was born January 15, 1924 in Princess Anne, Maryland to Vera and George Dryden. She died August 3, 2024 in Auburn, Washington. Margaret was raised in Baltimore and attended Towson State Teachers College. She taught Kindergarten and First Grade for over 30 years. Margaret married William Race (Bill) in 1947 and they soon moved to the Seattle area. During the first twenty-five years of their retirement they lived on Whidbey Island, and then moved to Auburn, Washington where Margaret lived until her death.
She is survived by daughters Leslie Cowles (Mike), Susan Race (Chuck Cuzzetto); grandchildren Cameron and Krista Cowles and Shandey Bailey; great grandchildren Oliver, Ellie, and Pippa Cowles and Noah Bailey.
