Our Mom and Grandma Maria Peña passed away on Tuesday March 1, 2016 with her daughters by her side. Maria is survived by her children Christina Burt (Eric), Rick Peña (Sharon), Irma Peña (Ed Goodell), Sandy Voigt (David), Celeste Peña (Graeme Burke), and Michael Peña (Kimberly), 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and cat Pebbles. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Sr and her children Gilbert Jr and Lisa.
Maria was born in Hebronville, Texas on April 9 1929. She moved to Washington, eventually settling in Seattle and raising her family there. She was also a successful business woman, managing a large chain of drycleaners in the greater-Seattle area. Her great loves were cats and the Mariners, loyally watching all their games.
She will be forever missed by all she touched with her warmth, grace, great sense of humour, and infectious personality,
