Mary Elaine Murrey

Born May 12, 1945 Mary Elaine Murrey was known by most people as Elaine. However she was also known by many other names as well. To dozens of friends and family alike many called her affectionately Auntie Elaine, later in life she became Grandma G to a growing family, but to a very special few she was just MOM.

Elaine was born to Elmer and Marion Goodfellow in the spring of 1945 to a large family. Her two brothers Leroy, and Jack as well as three of her four sisters Joyce, Jean and Shirley have also passed on leaving Marie as her only surviving sibling.

In 1962 Elaine married Stanley Boruck and had the first of her two children, Joyce (54) and Gary (52). Following her divorce from Stanley she was wed to Joseph F. Murrey Jr. in 1972 and had two more children, Joseph (44) and Katrina (41). The family has lived most of their lives in South Seattle where they continued to grow. Her beloved husband Joseph Jr. passed away too early at the age of 43 on July 30, 1991, exactly 26 years to the day prior to Elaine’s passing on July 30, 2017.

Elaine spent the 26 years after Joseph’s passing nurturing a large family that at the time of her death included 21 Grand Children and 16 Great Grand Children who all relished a trip to Grandma G’s house to spend time playing and cuddling with her. Her surviving kids and their spouses Joyce & Rick, Gary & Kristy, Joe & Becky, Katrina & Charles, along with Michelle, want to thank all who visited and sent their love to Elaine in her final hours, your love and thoughts were a great comfort to her. Elaine Murrey a young 72 years old has touched and brightened so many lives and she will be truly missed by all.
