

Mary J. Spears was born in Kentwood, Louisiana on February 16, 1912. She relocated to Seattle Washington in the early 40s. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and event planning with her club members (Ebonaries and Rhinestones) and close friends. Mary retired from the Marine Hospital and Cabrini Hospital in Seattle Washington.
She was a dedicated member of First African Methodist Episcopal Church for over fifty years. Mary was the February Circle Tea Chairman for many years, member of the Hospitality Committee, Missionary Society and enjoyed cooking her popular hot buttered scones, sweet potato pies and deviled eggs for many people.
Mary is survived by her Goddaughter- Ann Robinson, Juanita Womack-Bobo and Jackie Spencer, nieces of Seattle Washington, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving close friends. Her favorite color was pink.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William McRae, mother and father-Dicey and Monroe Thomas, Sisters- Callie Bolden, Dicey Taplin, Christine Womack, Corrine Harrison and Brothers - Bud, Emmitt, BT, and Bill Thomas.
You are invited to her visitation on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 10:00 - 8:00pm and Memorial graveside celebration of life on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Evergreen -Washelli Funeral Home, 1111 Aurora Ave North, Seattle Washington 98133.
She was and is dearly loved and will be missed greatly!
