Mendosia Gant passed away January 9, 2008, in Seattle, Washington. She was born July 17, 1917 in Emporia Virginia. She moved to Seattle in 1943 where she met and married her husband Robert F. Gant who preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons Robert F. Gant of Seattle, Richard L. Gant of New York, loving niece Eula Breland step daughter Evelyn G. Moore of Tampa Florida. Grandchildren Robert E. Gant, Orlando Gant, Mtume Gant, Chris, Kenny, Tracy and Ryan McKay. Brothers and sisters Scofield Brown, Clara Moore, Virginia Whitley, Curley Brown, Edward Brown, Sally B. Brown and William Brown. three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her honorary sons and daughters by choice, Terry Carroll, Adolph Briscoe, Bernard Shaw, Donald Eichelberger, Marcus Brown, Frances Stovall, Linda Armstrong, Regina Slack, Shelia Woods, and Margo Britten.
