

Meridee Ann Johansen, singer, traveler, and student of theology studies, passed away on September 17, 2025. She was born in Seattle Washington, in August of1948, to Odd and Ruth Johansen.
Meridee graduated from Ingraham High School followed by attending Shoreline Community College where she received a degree in Medical Record Technology.
Meridee’s career involved working for Pacific Medical and then Group Health Cooperative in the Medical records department for several years.
After retirement, she attended Seattle University receiving a certificate for Theology studies.
Meridee embraced her Norwegian roots and even learned to speak Norwegian so that she could converse with family in Norway (Sandefjord).
Meridee loved music, became a member of the Norwegian Ladies Chorus, performing with them in several concerts, including a special series while on a tour of Norway. She also loved to play the accordion.
Meridee was a proud charter member of the Nordic Heritage Museum, now the National Nordic Museum.
Meridee was a member of St. John’s United Lutheran Church for many years and volunteered at the Columbia Lutheran Home.
Meridee is survived by her sister Teresa (husband Fred Eastman), nephew Christopher Eastman, niece Michelle Eastman, cousins Craig and Gary Johansen, and Marlene Bann.
Funeral Service will be at Evergreen-Washelli on October 16, 2025 at 10:30AM.
