Jackson began his music career at age 11 as a member of The Jackson Five in 1969, and began a solo career in 1971. In 1982 Thriller was the world's best selling record of all time. Michael is credited with transforming the music video world in the 80's with such videos as "Bille Jean", "Beat It" and "Thiller" Jackson was a staple for his dance techniques such as the moonwalk and the robot and his creative musical sound and vocals that influenced many artists.

One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records -- including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"--13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career -- more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era and the sale of 750 million records worldwide.

Michael had previously announced a 50 date sell-out comeback tour, in England. Michael contributed to his community by raising and donating millions of dollars to benefit causes though his many foundations . He will truly be remembered for his outstanding talent, creative thinking and support to his community.
