Due to complications from lung cancer.
Mimi was born in Spokane to Joseph and Eve Hart, moved to Seattle in 1927 and grew up in West Seattle and Magnolia Bluff. A 1940 graduate of the Queen Ann high School, she was the editor of the school newspaper, The Kuay. Mimi went to Whitman College (graduated 1944) and the University of Chicago (graduated 1946), where she met Jere Lord, her husband for almost 60 years. She lived in View Ridge for most of her married life
Mimi enjoyed folk dancing and traveling to the cold places of the world, including Antartica, Greenland and Tibet. She as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, the league of women voters, the Woman's University Club of Seattle and was an enthusiastic ham with the Mountaineer Players. She also was a volunteer at the University of Washington Medical Center.
She is survived by three sons, David, Roger and Douglas, all of Seattle, and a few relatives, and she will be missed.
