Myrna Secord was born in Brooklyn, NY, where she lived until age 13, when she moved with her mother and siblings to Seattle. Myrna grew up in Seattle’s Central District, where she graduated from Garfield High School and participated in Jewish life in the neighborhood. She married Robert Secord, a schoolteacher, in 1959. Myrna was a successful real estate broker on the Eastside and ran her own real estate company, Diamond Realty, after many years with Coldwell Banker Bain. She was known for her friendly personality and savvy negotiating skills. Myrna was a dedicated volunteer for many years with Hadassah and was a long-time member of Temple De Hirsch Sinai. Myrna was very resilient, surviving many challenging health issues, including a successful liver transplant at age 67. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Bob Secord, and her partner of more than 40 years, Grosvenor Anschell, as well as two siblings, Esther Boruck and Stanley Boruck.
Myrna is survived by her daughter Julie Ellenhorn (David); grandson Robert Ellenhorn; granddaughter Tamara Ellenhorn (Nelson Segovia); and great-grandson, Adrian Segovia, and by her two brothers, Arthur Boruck and Joel Boruck. Donations in her memory can be made to Hadassah or Temple De Hirsch Sinai.
