Nadine Marie Thompson

March 5, 1927July 31, 2019

Nadine Marie Thompson, (92), passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Seattle, Washington. She was the loving wife of Claude Marion Thompson, who predeceased her. They shared 69 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Bellingham, Washington on March 5, 1927, Nadine was the daughter of David and Anna Larson. Her beloved sisters, Eileen and Laverne, preceded her in death. Nadine often shared different experiences from throughout her life. She reminisced about USO events during World War II where she and her sisters would spend time with young soldiers and sailors, helping them feel more connected to their families and homes. She worked for the phone company in her early years, fondly remembering her time in the accounting department. Nadine was an avid reader, rarely without a book close by.

Nadine lived a life of deep faith, rejoicing in her Christian beliefs. She prayed for all those who were in need and never failed to remind people that the angels were watching over them. Nadine is survived by her son, Ken Thompson and his wife Jan, and her son, Ron Thompson and his wife Cathy. She has four grandchildren: Kristin (Thompson) Alfonzo (Marques), Kyle Thompson, Matt Thompson (Melissa) and Stephen Thompson. Nadine left behind three beautiful great granddaughters who were the pride of her life, Jordan Alfonzo, Alexis Thompson and Makayla Thompson, in addition to nieces and nephews who she loved very much.

Nadine was a loving and attentive mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was always available to her family. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

What can we say about our angel, Nadine...
The Lord sent Nadine into our lives when we had just lost our mom. She became a second mother to us. We counted on Nadine for prayer, encouragement, love, humor, stories. She shared with us many stories of her family, her friends, her pets, and mostly her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have been prayer partners with Nadine for the past 13 years, speaking with her almost every day. She was always on her knees speaking with the Lord to redirect hurricanes away from our house, wildfires away when burning too close, safe travels across the country, healing of family and friends, protection of our outdoor cats from coyotes, and clear direction that we be led on the pathway the Lord has planned for us.
We will miss her tremendously here on earth, but rejoice in the knowledge that we will see her again in the presence of our Lord and Savior. Well done, good and faithful servant, Nadine! We love you, love you, love you....
Our love and prayers continue for the family. May you find comfort in knowing that Nadine is experiencing joy beyond our wildest imaginations.
Shortly before Nadine passed, we were able to sing a hymn with her, "Precious Lord, take my hand". We can envision Nadine surrounded by a company of angels singing beneath the shadow of His wings and holding His right hand....
"Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me." Psalm 63:7-8
