Born June 10, 1933 in Massillon, Ohio to Herbert Ollie Maddox & Lucinda Florence Maddox. Nellie was the youngest of ten Maddox kids; George, Sam, Edward, Charles, Mary, Pearl, Marcella, Paul and Louis. Nellie moved with her parents when she was a child to Kingston, Washington where she spent her childhood on the family farm and attended Kingston Grade School through 10th grade.
On September 6th, 1952 she married the love of her life Warren Edward Blanchette who passed away in 1995. Nellie was a Seattle resident for over 60 years and was the owner of Nellie’s Burgers in West Seattle in the early 80s. She raised six children in South Park, Wa. Her youngest child, Timothy, preceded her death in 2002.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her memory will live on through her family; daughter Victoria, daughter Michele, son Michael and his wife Cheryl, son Robert and his wife Renea, son Gary and his wife Diana. Her ten grandchildren; Jenifer, Traci, Anthony, Amanda and her husband Jason, Daniel and his wife Noelle, Rachel, Denesha, Alicia, Thomas and Julia. Her granddaughter Andrea preceded her death in 2014. Her great grandchildren; Austin, Deshawn, Mackenzie, Mariah, Mia, Delaney, Tinsley and Adalynn. Her great grandson Jayden preceded her death in 2017.
Nellie enjoyed life and was always willing to help others, especially when that involved taking care of her family. When her children were growing up she was involved in Concord Elementary PTA and the Girl Scout organization in South Park. She loved gardening, parties and drinking Budweiser, She also loved the Holidays with her family and extended family.
Nellie peacefully passed away in her home on March 31st, 2019. Mrs. B, Mom, Gramma, GiGi... You will forever be loved.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Tukwila Community Center, 12424 42nd Ave S, Tukwila, Washington on April 26th from 1:30pm to 4:30pm
