
Born on October 21st, 1919 in Manville, New Jersey; passed away on March 23rd, 2002 after bravely battling cancer. Nick will be remembered as a loving husband, father & brother with a kind and generous heart. He is survived by his loving wife, Luella; son, Nickolas Szurick of Seattle; sister, Mary Mazur of New Jersey and brother, John Stacks of North Carolina.
Nick married Luella Rutschke in July of 1946. A happy marriage spanning 55 years. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was proud of his military service, often sharing numerous repeated stories to interested ears. Retired from Bethlehem Steel after 35 years as a foreman. He will be fondly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his generosity, and his positive outlook on life. He was a witty man with an energetic personality. Nick?s warmth and charm endeared him to everyone he met. Although Nick suffered a long bout with cancer, he maintained his positive attitude & usual sense of humor to the end. He had a happy and interesting life and thru the years developed countless meaningful relationships.
