Johnson, Orval E.
Orval E. Johnson was born August 12, 1930 in Moscow, Idaho, to Orval and Ethel Johnson. At age 16, he and his mother moved to Everett, WA, where he graduated from Everett High School in June 1948. After graduation, he attended the University of Washington in Seattle until July 1951, when he enlisted in the US Air Force and served until July 1955. Orval was stationed in Texas, Korea, California, Arizona, and England. He met his future wife, Merla Creegan, while stationed at Castle AFB in Merced, CA. They were married in Las Vegas on April 22, 1955. After his discharge, they moved to Seattle so Orval could continue his studies at the UW. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture in 1962 and worked his entire career for Leo A. Daly, an international architectural/engineering firm. He loved his family, camping, gardening and watching sports (especially football). His loving wife, Merla, died in December 1993. Orval is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Carl Magnuson; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Sarah and Rodger Bettis; brother and sister-in-law Phillip and Mary Johnson and their family.
