Pearl Olive Castle

On Saturday, May 20, 2023 Pearl O. Castle passed away at home at the age of 102. Pearl was born March 9, 1921 in Oconto Nebraska to Lath and Lulu Mae Williams. The family moved to Livingston, MT when she was three years old after the untimely death of her dad.

After her high school graduation, Pearl moved to Seattle in 1939 to attend beauty school. She met Ray Castle and they were married in 1940. Together they had 2 children, Gary and Tom.

During WWII, she worked for the shipyard as a pipefitter helper. Pearl owned and operated Pearl's Beauty Shop for 2 years in West Seattle. Family was everything, she became a stay at home mom to raise her two sons.

Pearl enjoyed doing water aerobics at the Mountlake Terrace pool, three days a week for the last 14 years, her motto was "Move it or lose it."

Pearl was loving, caring, kind and loved being with family. She lived for her sons Gary and Tom, grandkids Annie Saunderson (Rob), Erik Leiren (Danielle), Amy Kalani (Travis), John Castle and great granddaughter Freyja.

We will all miss her loving hugs and zest for life. The memories we all have will last forever.

A graveside service for Pearl will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Evergreen Health Hospice Care in her memory.
