I know Grandma's beliefs didn't include reincarnation . . . but if they did, I believe, this is what she would say . . . 

"When I die, she said, I am coming back as a tree with deep roots and I'll wave my leaves at the children on their way to school and whisper tree songs in their dreams at night.  Trees with deep roots know about the things children need."

Much of what I learned, about the needs and care of children, I learned from Grandma, by the way she cared for me as a child.  Her home was cozy, her arms always welcoming, her swing open, her love and care were always extended to me as a child.  I feel what my daughter needs today, much due to the love I felt from my Grandma.  Thank you for your love Grandma, for your kitchen dances, for your song, for your root beer floats after school, for your silk pillow cases in summer, for adventure trips to your upstairs and basement and backyard quiet swings and deck visits and your great big welcoming smile. I love you.

Grandma, I will miss you so much.  You had become such a part of our everyday life, living out here with Ines and Bob.  You were the cutest 93 yr-old on the planet!  I will love you always, and keep the faith that I know I will see you one day again.  You are truly walking with Jesus now.  
I'm blowing you a kiss... did you catch it?

I have such wonderful memories of Auntie Pearl. I will always remember her sharp sense of humor and warm laugh. Our thoughts are with you all and we are sorry we cannot attend the memorial. Love, Katie & Rick
