With faith in the resurrection and deep love, the family of Patti Kost announces her falling asleep in the Lord. Born on July 26, 1962, in Great Lakes, Illinois, Patti was the beloved daughter of George and Loula Lambert and cherished sister to George (Cyndy), Andy, and Mike (Nancy).
On June 2, 1984, she married the love of her life, James Kost, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Together they built a beautiful family and were blessed with three children: Jimmy (Mary), Presvytera Ellia (Fr. Nektarios), and Athan (Aleesa). Patti’s greatest joy was her family, especially her ten beloved grandchildren: Madeline, James, John, Kevin, Michael, Peter, Josephine, Michelle, Rosemary Lou, and James. Though she did not have the chance to meet her eleventh grandchild, baby Charlie, Patti held him close in her heart and awaited his arrival with deep love and joy.
Patti devoted her life to Christ and His Church, faithfully serving at St. Demetrios through Sunday School, where she taught generations of four-year-olds, as well as through Philoptochos, youth ministries, All Saints Camp, Camp Agape, and countless acts of quiet love and service.
Though her illness progressed in 2012, Patti continued to live with strength, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved and remained a source of comfort, faith, and kindness to all who knew her. She had a special love for her dogs, who were always close by, and never lost her affection for her favorite Safeway chocolate cake.
May her memory be eternal.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Dome Fund at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, a reflection of Patti’s deep love and lifelong devotion to her church home.
