Born October 13, 1916 in Klum, North Dakota; passed away at the age of 86 on October 28, 2002. Ralph and his wife Florence were long-term residents of Ballard and Lake Sammamish. Ralph and Florence were owners of General Home Appliance in downtown Seattle. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents John F. and Anna Anderson of North Dakota; son-in-law Ken Moultrie of Seattle and granddaughter Kari Jo Knutson of Lake Stevens. He leaves his daughters Darlene Knutson and her husband Leonard, Norma U?Ren and her husband Ray and Judy Weitz and her husband Bill; 5 grandchildren Dean, Dale, Andy, Beth and Scott; 6 great grandchildren Tucker, Tynan, Karsten, Lars, Justice and Austin. Everyone who knew him loved our father. He was witty, kind and generous. These characteristics and the ability to fix almost everything were characteristics that were in constant demand from friends and family. His skill of fixing household items likened him to ?physician status of repair?. It was not uncommon for Dad to be called out at all hours for emergency repairs of washers, dryers, dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, sinks, etc. He worked tirelessly, and was happy to provide his services for as little as a cup of coffee and a pastry. Dad was very athletic and loved bowling and baseball. At age 45, he transitioned from baseball to golf, playing mostly at Jefferson Park with his brother Elford and others. He carried that passion for golf to Arizona where he and our mother were snowbirds up until two years ago, when they returned permanently to Lake Stevens to be closer to family. Dad loved the social aspects of golf and played three to fours times a week in retirement. He was very competitive and loved the camaraderie of being with his buddies on the golf course. Ralph and Florence were married 63 years and died 23 days apart. Dad needed Mother in these last few years, as she was the anchor of his mental ship. We are thankful that Dad and Mom are back together after three short weeks. Due to the close timing of our parents? passing away and the fact that we have family members out of the country, we will be delaying the memorial service, which will be held on November 22, 2002 at 11:00am at the Philadelphia Church, 7704 24th Ave., Seattle, WA 98117. A lunch reception will follow. Please make memorials to the Alzheimer?s Association of Washington-12721 30th Ave. NE, Seattle, WA 98125. Please sign his online guest book.
