Rex Emory Shinn

Beloved husband to late wife Ailene and beloved father to Albert and Myrna passed away at the age of 75 on Friday, March 16th. Rex grew up in West Virginia and Pennsylvania before moving to Idaho. He later moved to Washington and spent most of his years in Seattle. Rex?s employment began with the Northern Pacific Railroad until 1955 and continued with Metro Transit until retirement. Rex was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriner?s. Rex is survived by children Myrna Pair and Albert Larimer, grandchildren Jessica Pair, Jason Larimer, Chris Hemingson, and three great grandchildren Megan, Hannah, and Danielle. A memorial service will be Sunday, March 25, 2001 at 2:00 PM at Evergreen-Washelli, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle, WA. Trains, Buses, the Flying A

Two Jobs, early hours,

split shifts, a long work day

Hydros and football, Go! Huskies Go!

Globetrotters, horses,

John Denver, Elvis and Oh...

Your OK for Albert to give me Babette

for twelve years, she

was the beloved family pet

Times of turmoil and trouble met

with strength and dignity

and purpose, yet...

When we challenged you, truly, to the core

you never gave up

or said, ''No more.''

Therein lies a man of value and heart

amid laughter, a broad smile

and, yes, your golf cart

You and George, I can see it now

two friends conversing and golfing with ease

occasionally sharing crackers and cheese

The love you held for your wife, our Mom

of honor and courage

overpowering the fear that could have come

You weren't just a Dad to Albert and I

You were a father

and it's hard saying good-bye

Your laughter, your spirit,

your jokes, your kind heart

these are the memories you impart

Together with Mom you can take flight

breathe deeply the air

No longer suffer or fight
