

Born August 8, 1925 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Dick was the first of nine children of William and Frances Keller. He passed away on July 18, 2009 in Bothell, Washington in the presence of loved ones.
Upon graduating from Cathedral High School, he served as a Marine in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After his discharge, Dick obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John's University in 1949. He moved to Monitor, Washington where he taught 7th grade for a year before resuming his education at St. Martin's in Olympia and Mount Angel in Oregon. During his teaching years at St. Martin's college, he earned a Masters of Arts degree from Notre Dame, and was later awarded a PHD from New York University. He returned to Saint Martin's College to teach and completed his teaching career at Seattle Central Community College, where he taught history and philosophy for 24 years, retiring in 1991.
Dick is preceded in death by siblings Sister Petra Keller SSS and Charles Keller. He is survived by his wife Marion Keller, children Bruce Herron (Gloria) and Christie Herron Fuller (Dan), granddaughters Amanda Caple Melton, Allison Herron Green (Shannon), and Stefanie Fuller, great-grandchildren Cassandra, Hailey, Grace, and Mark Green, siblings David Keller (Kathie), Kenneth Keller (Maggie), Sister Hilda Keller OSB, Patricia Johnston, Robert Keller, and William Keller (Agnes), and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews and more friends than could be counted.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 8th 2009 (Dick's 84th birthday) at 11:00 AM at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home 11111 Aurora Ave N Seattle, WA 98133. The family invites you to join us in wearing red, which was Dick's favorite color.
