

Robert "Rob" Kent Alger, 78, passed away on January 29, 2024, in Everett, Washington. He was born on February 3, 1945 in Richmond, Virginia, but has been a long time resident of the Snohomish/Everett, WA area. Rob graduated from University of WA in 1967 with a degree in Sociology. He then joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Elmendorf–Richardson, where he learned to fly and son Shaun was born. Rob was honorably discharged after 3 years of service as an E5 Sergeant. Rob had a life long career in real estate as an agent, land developer, and home inspector.
Robert is survived by his long term partner, Diana; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Trent Alger, of Everett, WA; Shaun and Dani Alger, of Carlsbad, CA; Darren and Jamie Alger, of Bellevue, WA. His older brother, Ralph, passed away in 1990; his sister, Nancy Soderblom, resides in Snohomish, WA. He was lovingly referred to as “Papa” to his grandkids, Brendan, Kane, Kara, Luke, Baylor, Natalie, and Katherine. We can’t forget his cat, Butter, when mentioning his family.
Rob was known for his wit and humor. He truly had a heart of gold, captivating everyone who met him with his compassion, empathy and genuine interest in their happiness. He radiated love for his family. You could always count on Rob for a warm hug, a listening ear, and, if you were lucky, a dirty joke.
The Funeral service will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 1:00pm (11111 Aurora Avenue N, Seattle WA 98133). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paws.org and/or Communities in Schools.
