

Robert (Bob) Pugmire, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, respected business executive, and faithful leader in and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away on May 20, 2026, at the age of 98.
A Legacy of Professional Integrity
Bob spent over 40+ years as a visionary leader in the insurance industry. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Northern Life Insurance, where he was known for his sharp intellect, ethical leadership, visionary strategist, and mentorship. His colleagues remember him as a man who led by example, always prioritizing honesty and people over profits.
Lifelong Faith and Ministry
A dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church, Bob lived a life rooted in faith and service. Throughout his years of ministry, he served joyfully in numerous callings, including Bishop. Later in his life he was called to be a Full-Time Missionary in the areas of public affairs, family history, and the perpetual education program, serving in Toronto, Salt Lake City and Jamaica. His success was highlighted by his superior intellect and problem solving, benefiting those he served and served with. His leadership was defined by a profound love for his fellow man, a deep testimony of Jesus Christ, and an unwavering commitment to ministering to those in need.
His Greatest Joy: Family
Despite his professional and ecclesiastical responsibilities, Bob always put his family first. He shared that commitment with his high school sweetheart, Beverly Jean Bromley, for nearly fifty years. After her passing, he was fortunate to have Tonya (Tony) Clark enter his live for his last 25 years. He was a pillar of strength, wisdom, and humor for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved gathering his family for holidays, sporting events, and vacations, where he would share stories and offer guidance. His family will forever cherish his warmth, his advice, and his constant encouragement.
Service Details
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jean Bromley. He is survived by his wife, Tonya (Tony) Clark; his eight children; 53 grandchildren; and 129 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on June 13, 2026, from 9:30am to 10:30am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Shoreview Ward Building, 102 North 132nd Street, Seattle, Washington, 98133. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00am at the same location.
