
Roberta Dahl Solem, 89, of Seattle, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2008 after a brief illness. She was born in Spokane on May 18, 1919, the second-born of three into the home ofChristian and Leona Dahl. She grew up in Spokane and attended Bemis Elementary and Rogers High School, graduating in 1936. She married Sam Solem in 1938 and they shared 54 joyful years together until his passing in 1992.
Together, Sam and Roberta were committed followers of Christ and actively involved in church life. She was well known in area churches as a singer and violinist, always accompanied by her husband. Family was her great joy and her kids describer her as a great mom and there was never any question but that they were well-loved.
After the passing of her husband, Roberta moved to Seattle where she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Barry Karen Solem; and daughter, Bobbie Rod Nicholson; grandchildren Michelle Matthew Jensen, Stephanie Erik Evans, Barry Nicholson, and Jill Nate Dreon as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at her home church, First Assembly of God, 821 W. Indiana on Friday, November 14 at 2:00 p. m.
