The son of Red and Grace Peterson, he spent his youth in Minnesota, skiing, hunting and fishing with extended family and friends. After moving to Washington, Ron began his studies at the University of Washington. His summers were spent working, and hiking in Glacier National Park, Montana.
Active in ROTC, he entered the U.S. Air Force upon graduation from the university. Over the years he was stationed in the U.S., as well as Japan, Korea, Libya and Vietnam. True to his love of learning, he took classes through the University of Maryland while he was in the Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, he traveled in Europe.
When he returned to Washington, he enrolled at the University of Washington again and took education classes. Shortly there after, he began his hotel career. As a manager, he enjoyed assisting guests from all over the world and he valued the staff he worked with.
Ron loved learning, helping people and sharing. In retirement he met many new and wonderful people at the Edmonds Senior Center. He loved teaching Spanish and the friends he made at the center, whether it was in a class or at the lunch table. His life was enriched by you.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and Sister Linda. He is survived by his sister P.J., niece Stephanie(Tom) O'Brien, brother-in-law Rob, and numerous nieces and nephews and wonderful friends who visited or wrote to him during his illness.
The family would like to thank his care givers for your dedication and most of all your kindness. You helped make it possible for him to say he was content.
