In 1949 Rudy Macias Jr. was born in Seattle. He grew up in White Center and lived most of his life in the Burien area. In 1968, Rudy graduated from Chief Sealth HS at 18, married Judy (Bardsley) Macias, bought his first house, and had his first child, Jeffrey Paul (wife Paula). The family grew one more when he was blessed with a daughter, Gina (Macias) Sparby. Being a dad was his passion. Rudy had a lot of responsibilities early in his life. He worked hard, putting in many weekends and OT hours as crane operator at Bethlehem Steel. At age 41 he got his real-estate license and worked for Del Bianco Realty getting the experience to start his own rental property business which he managed. Rudy and Judy were married for 46 years.
There are many memories of camping and trips to Disneyland. He coached little league baseball, CYO basketball, and softball for many seasons and still sees many of these kids today. Rudy was a big sports fan; he never missed a single Mariner or Seahawk game. He loved to golf with friends. He had a passion for classic cars and has a 57 Chev that he took to many local car shows. He also loved to travel and took annual trips with his wife Judy to Arizona (Spring Training) and Mexico, his favorite place. He enjoyed the sun, culture, and most of all the love for Mexican music, passed on to him from his parents. Rudy had many things he loved but top of list are the Grandkids; Maddy (15), Matthew (14), and Jaden (11). He would very rarely miss a sports event or school program.
We will miss our husband, father, father-in law, brother, Uncle, cousin, friend and Grampy more than words can say. He will be with us in our souls forever.
A memorial and celebration of life will be Thursday July 17th at 2 pm. It will be held at the Normandy Park Cove, 1500 SW Shorebrook Drive, Normandy Park WA.98166.
