
Born in Renton on April 8, 1925. Passed into eternity on June 17, 2003 in Lynnwood. Predeceased by her loving husband Dick and her mother Irene.
Sharing the Joy of her ascent to heaven are her children and families: Dana, Dave Meronuk and sons Kevin and Colin; Rick Greenway and twins Travis and Tristin; Doug and Heather Greenway and son Doug and Becky Greenway and their daughters Madisen and Kylar; son Mathew and Lisa Greenway and their daughter Savanah; Pax Greenway, Joanne Olson, Kathie Markham; Cecile Greenway and sons Richard and Christopher and daughter Alicia. Ruth was extremely proud of her 10 grandchildren and thrilled with her 3 great-granddaughters. She also leaves behind a sister, Gwen Hilton, her husband Reuben and their sons Jeff and Ben, and will be missed by her cousins and aunts, as well as many old and new friends, especially Peter Barker.
Ruth will be remembered for her love of life, her versatile interests and her love of people. She was an Honor Roll student, an athlete and a member of the Band and Glee Club at Queen Anne High. She won many awards for her work in the Shoreline PTA Golden Acorn Award and at Acme Personnel Mrs. Enthusiasm and a trip to Hawaii!. She was one of the early residents of Lake Forest Park, where she volunteered at the schools, and worked on committees for the LFP Civic Club and the LFP Parks Board, which resulted in many community improvements. She was a lifelong member of the Camp Fire Girls and several Seattle area Baptist Churches. She was an active member of the North Shoreline Seniors Center and an avid fisherman, camper, walker, talker, singer and dancer and would volunteer for any good cause. The family would like to thank the staff at Alterra Clare Bridge of Lynnewood and the Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish for their quality care.
