Saburo Tsuboi ("Sab") was born on July 29, 1923 and grew up in Seattle, Washington. When he was 19 years old he volunteered to join the United States Army, where he became part of the decorated 442nd Infantry Regiment serving in WWIl, where he received a Purple Heart medal. Upon returning home from the war, he got a job with the City of Seattle where he worked for 40 years. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with friends.
He later met his wife, Mary and they had two children. He was a loving husband and a doting father.
He was always happy, smiling and the nicest, kindest person you could ever meet. He was a special son, brother, husband, father, uncle, great-uncle and great-great uncle and he was a dear friend to everybody that knew him. He profoundly touched so many lives with his warm heart.
In his retirement years, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, watching the Mariner and Seahawks games and going to the casino to play the slot machines. (He was enjoying those outings to the casino up until his 102nd birthday!) He lived a long, happy and rich life. We were so fortunate and grateful.
Saburo passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. He will be terribly missed and forever in our hearts. His extremely kind, loving soul was truly loved by all.
Private services were held.
