Sandra was born at Swedish hospital on September 25, 1939 to Arthur and Irene Wogberg in Seattle Washington. She liked to say that she was a little ‘Swedish’ girl born at Swedish hospital. She spent all of her years living in the surrounding Seattle area.
Sandra met Jim Bertrand at Dick’s Drive-in on 45th Avenue in 1958 and in October 1960, Sandra married Jim. Over the next many years they had two children, Jim and Karen. When Sandra’s children were young, the phrase “stay-at-home-mom” didn’t really exist. It was common for women to stay at home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Sandra was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and friends.
She enjoyed cooking, reading, and being with family. She loved antiquing and visiting garage sales on the weekends.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Jim, her son, James Scott (Cheryl), her daughter Karen Lynn (Boris), her three grandchildren who she adored, Amanda, Rebecca, & AJ, as well as her sister, Jean Ann (Fred), and many cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Friday August 6, 2021 at Advent Lutheran Church in Mill Creek Washington.
A graveside service for Sandra will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Abbey View Memorial Park, 3601 Alaska Rd., Brier, WA 98036.
