Sandra Vidgoff passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026. She was the devoted wife of the late Sheldon Vidgoff and a cherished mother to Jason Vidgoff and Debbie Bottorff (Jeff). She was a beloved sister to Bill Taraday (Barrie), the late Rochelle Cassard, the late Joyce Mesher and the late Linda Haugen. She was the proud grandmother to Zoe Elle Vidgoff, Sierra Belle Vidgoff, Paris Roubaix Vidgoff, Nicole Phipps (Rich), Michael Bottorff (Daniele) Matthew Bottorff; loving great-grandmother to Adeline Phipps and Richard Gunner Phipps.
Sandra was born on July 16, 1933 to Dr. William and Birdye Wienir. She attended Garfield High School and went on to study for two years at the University of Western Washington.
In August 1962, she married Sheldon Vidgoff, and together they shared more than 49 years of marriage. They built a life together, raising their family in the Bay Area, later living in downtown Bellevue for more than 3 years. After Sheldon passed away, Sandra reached out to Edward (Ed) Friant, whom she had known through her membership in the Hearing Loss Association of America and the Association of Late Deafened Adults. Ed has been a loving partner and friend to Sandra since he came into her life. He opened her world and brought her life, fun and joy that she may never have experienced before. When she declined physically, Ed stepped up and became a personal caregiver as well and continued that extra care and love even when the two of them moved to Aegis Living. In December 2025, when she moved to the Nov Adult Family Home on Mercer Island, he took an apartment nearby and continued to visit her daily, providing loving care and companionship.
Sandra will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra’s memory may be made to Temple De Hirsch Sinai, Jewish Family Service, or the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle.
