

Scottie Ames, 34, passed away in Seattle, Washington on March 17, 2024. Scottie was born on January 28, 1990 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Scottie is survived by his wife Kayla Seager Ames, mother Laura Sholten Ames, sister Ashley Ames Pomplun, brother-in-law Tyler Pomplun, father Scott Barlow Ames, grandfather Lauren Ames and many loving extended family members.
Scottie grew up and attended elementary school in Glencoe, Illinois. He attended New Trier High School and graduated in 2008. He attended Prescott College in Arizona and studied Marine Biology and Water Conservation.
Upon completing college Scottie moved to Oregon where he met his wife Kayla through their careers at Intel. Kayla was the love of Scottie's life and best friend. She meant the world to him. Kayla and Scottie were married in 2019 in Cannon Beach, Oregon. They lived In Forest Grove, Oregon for 5 years. In January 2019, they relocated to Seattle, Washington. Scottie was a Network and Data Center Engineer for Zillow. In his free time he enjoyed his favorite hobbies with Kayla. They loved to travel, scuba dive, and go kayaking.
From a young age Scottie had a passion for technology. He had an enormous heart and radiated light to those who knew and loved him. He accepted everyone with open arms and a beautiful smile. He had immense passion for the ocean, spiritual work, kayaking, animals, and the natural world. Scottie had an adventurous spirit and loved the outdoors.
His departure comes as a great shock to the family and countless others who loved him. His remains will be brought to Cannon Beach Oregon, a very special place for Scottie and Kayla.
