Sharleen (Shar) Ann Freeman née Taylor was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She was born to Walter and Ruth Taylor in August of 1941 in Doty, a lumber town and home to one of the largest sawmills in unincorporated Lewis County located in southwest Washington State. Sharleen's father was a logger and her mother was a homemaker who later worked for the local school district. She was the second of five children: Virginia (Ginger), Carol, Thomas (Tom) and Edward (Ed). The Taylors were a fun loving family who worked extraordinarily hard and played hard too. Shar was a graduate of Pe Ell High School and much later in life she attended college in Bellevue, WA.
Sharleen married Nick (Richard) Freeman in 1967 and had three daughters, twins Krista and Karen and their youngest, Lori. She would later become a grandmother five times over to two girls and three boys.
Shar owned her own importing/exporting business focused on historical wooden coffee table board games sourced from loved family friend Uncle Joey Peng in Taiwan.
Shar was a force of nature. She was very beautiful, disarming, smart, strong, kind, insightful, irreverent, loving and wise. She had an infectious laugh and made everything fun and beautiful. She loved to garden, was a beautiful painter and designer, a talented seamstress and a fantastic dancer. She was a beautiful soul curious about the human mind and spirit and held deep spiritual beliefs about God, and the power of love and kindness. She was honest, generous and loyal, fiercely independent, believed in equality and fairness for all and had an amazing work ethic. She was her own person and was very down to earth and authentic about everything she did. She was an exceptional woman who gave everything she had to her family and friends. She had real courage and fought a brave fight against a rare combination of vascular and lewy body dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
She was a widower of her beloved husband Nick and is survived by her children: Krista (Scott), Karen (Joe) and Lori (Loren); five grandchildren: Kayleigh, Taylor, Liam, Lucas and Logan; two sisters: Ginger and Carol; one brother: Ed and many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Ruth, and her brother Tom.
She will be loved and missed forever and ever.
