Sherry Lee Heitman passed away peacefully in Edmonds, Wa on September 21, 2017. She was born in Tacoma, WA on September 11, 1945 to Carl S. and Margaret J. Heitman. To know Sherry was to love her, she was a hippie who saw the best in people and had a huge heart. She was a trailblazer, a welder in the Seattle area shipyards in the 70's, an activist, a community organizer and a writer. Sherry leaves behind a legacy full of love and laughter. She will be fondly remembered by her two daughters, Carlene S. Heitman (Ryan Gill) and Shawna A. Higgins (Jeffery Higgins) both of Edmonds, Wa., grandson's Joshua C. Shelp-Higgins (Rebekka Shelp-Higgins), Nathan A. Higgins, great granddaughter, Halayna R. Shelp-Higgins and brothers, Joseph C. Heitman and Fritz J. Heitman. Proceeded in death by her life partner, David A. Kratzer and sister, Carla M. Olsen. We all mourn the loss of an incredibly strong woman. She will be remembered by family and friends for her warm and welcoming nature.
