
September 3, 1924 to May 23, 2004
Shizuko passed away peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson?s disease. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, baseball, knitting, sewing, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was a warm and caring individual, whose will and strength surpassed her size. She will be deeply missed and will never be forgotten.
She is lovingly survived by her sons, Jerry Fujita of Bellevue, Roger Kathy Fujita of Redmond, her daughter, Mae Larry Numata of Mercer Island, her daughter-in-law Barbara Fujita of Renton, her son-in-law Neil Asaba of Bellevue, and her seven grandchildren, Scott and Steven Fujita, Nelson and Mika Asaba, Jerry and Kristen Numata, and Robert Fujita. Her husband, Atsushi ?Johnny? and her daughter, Joanne Fujita Asaba, preceded her in death. Her sister, Hisayo Adachi, and her brother, Shigeo Akada, both of Seattle survive her.
Funeral/memorial services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the Seattle Buddhist Temple, 1427 South Main Street. The family gratefully acknowledges the caring staff where Shizuko spent the last four years of her life and requests that remembrances be made to Seattle Keiro Nursing Home at 1601 East Yesler Way, Seattle, Washington 98122.
