Silviano Isidoro Garcia, 90, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026 in Normandy Park, WA. He was born August, 21, 1935 in Cuyamungue, NM to Jose and Matilde Garcia. Silviano served in the Navy from 1956 – 1959 aboard the USS Missouri in Bremerton, WA. While there, he met Lorraine Teter. They were married on May 9, 1959 in Seattle, WA. They raised their eight children in Burien, WA.
Faith and family were the most important part of Silviano’s life. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Silviano loved visiting with his children, grandchildren, and great-children. He was a genuinely happy man whose smile would light up a room. He loved to laugh and whistle. Even in his last days, when he was unable to verbally communicate, he would smile and laugh.
Silviano is survived by his wife Lorraine; children Rafael Garcia (Naomi); Christina Hutton (Tom), Angela Chaufty (Adam); Mary Street (Dave); Tony Garcia; Vicente Garcia (Cindy); Juliane Milum (Dave); and Jennifer White (Dan); thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Benigno Garcia; and sisters Edwina Valencia and Teresa Sisneros. He was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings Sigi Garcia, Casimiro Garcia, Myrna Garcia, and Dolores Manzanares.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Seattle with a graveside service at Noon on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery.
Silviano will always be in our hearts.
