
Our beloved husband, father and grandfather age 83 passed away September 27th in Kirkland, WA. A lifetime resident of the Seattle and Kirkland areas, Stan was best known as "Starch" to his brothers and best buddies.
Upon graduation from Ballard H.S. in Seattle, Stan attended the University of Washington. As a proud veteran of the military U.S. Navy, he served honorably in the South Pacific during WWII. Upon discharge from the service, he met and married the love of his life Frances in 1948 and, together, raised two boys Gary & Craig. Initially, he worked in the commercial fishing industry as a fisherman until 1962 and was then employed at Formost Dairies until his retirement in 1980. He was deeply devoted to his faith and church, enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf, and particularly enjoyed his time with his family and granddaughters including their activities and outdoor sports.
Stan is survived by his loving and devoted wife Frances of 56 years; sons Gary Johansen Karen and Craig Johansen Kerry of Bothell; granddaughters Kelli Benik Tony, Kasey, Courtney and Chelsea Johansen. Also, surviving is his brother Odd Johansen of Seattle. He was preceded in death by both parents Ludvig & Othilie, sister Edith and brother Conrad.
Stan?s life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Thursday, September 30th, 1:30pm at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 10021 NE 124th St., Kirkland, WA, 425 823-2727. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association or to your favorite charity.
