Stephen D. Fekety, 87, died June 4, 2023, in Seattle, Wash. He was born in Middletown, Conn. After graduating from Franklin and Marshall College, where he served as president of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, he went to Wall Street as a security analyst at Walston & Comay and Eastman Dillon Union Securities. In 1964, he moved to Richmond, Va., and worked for Wheat First Securities and Scott & Stringfellow. After moving to Portland, Ore., in 1978, he became Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Merchant Banking Division at US Bank and President of US Bancorp Capital, a venture capital fund. He then co-founded Crown Point Group, and was its president. He was a good friend and mentor to many who appreciated his wisdom and humor. Stephen was a kind and gentle man, quiet, but with a wicked sense of humor. He loved his grandchildren and had a twinkle in his eye whenever he played with them, always up for an hours long game of Monopoly or a game of catch. One of his proudest moments was playing first base in the 1948 Little League World Series, representing South Farms in Middletown, Conn. He maintained his love of baseball throughout his life, and was thrilled when the Red Sox won the 2004 World Series. Stephen also had a lifelong love of travel and exploration. He was so happy meeting new people, taking photographs, and learning about different cultures. He and his beloved wife, Linda, circumnavigated the globe on adventures from China and South Africa to Peru and Mexico. Stephen is survived by his wife, Linda Rockwell; daughter, Stephanie Kornfeld (Seth); grandsons, Sam and Jonah; stepchildren, Laura Loescher (Dave) and Steven Loescher (Autumn); step grandchildren, Alaina, Andy, and Roxy; and was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dr. Stephen and Mrs. Anita Fekety.
