Our beloved mother, Suk Fong Louie, was born on September 27, 1936 in Taishan County, Guangdong Province, China. During World War II, her father went missing on a business trip. Since then, she was raised by her hard working single mother. After graduating from high school, she moved to Hong Kong to live with her aunt's family, where she worked in a glass factory until reuniting with her mother in 1953. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior in 1954 and was baptized at the Hong Kong Wan-Chi District United Methodist Church. She married Mr. Shui Bun Leung in 1956; together they had two daughters, Pui Han and Pui Yee, three sons, Wing Yan, Wing Fai and Wing Yiu, and have been blessed with eleven grandchildren and one great grandson.
After Mrs. Louie-Leung retired from Sun Po Kong Garment Factory in 1983, she and her husband immigrated to Longview, Texas, where they stayed with her younger daughter's family until 1988. They then relocated to Seattle, Washington to be with their elder daughter and three sons. After moving to Seattle, she became active at local Chinese churches and in the Chinese community more broadly. She participated in and volunteered with the Seattle Gospel Center for many years.
Due to her frequent falls in 2017, she was admitted into Keiro Nursing Home. After Keiro's closing, she relocated to Issaquah Nursing And Rehabilitation Center in July 2019. Our beloved mother lived a long, fulfilling life and was gracefully taken by our Lord on July 2,2020.
Although Mrs. Louie-Leung went through a number of health-related perils since her husband's passing in 2011, God protected her over the years. With God's sufficient grace, she became a life warrior, never giving up when faced with difficulties. Mrs. Louie-Leung was a devoted wife, taking care of her sick husband diligently for years until his death. She dedicated herself to her family with her whole heart, and together with her husband raised their five children with sacrifice and love. She lived an ordinary life but full of God's blessing.
Dear mother, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. We believe that you are with God, reunite with our dear grandmother and father, and share the great blessings of heaven. From now on, there will be no more hunger or thirsty, no more tears, no more suffering, no more sorrow, no more loneliness, no more separation... Amen.
