

Sultan was born to parents Mangta and Karambibi Mahtab. After graduating from Pullman Highschool in Spokane Washington , he went on to study at Spokane Community College and earned his Associates Degree in Applied Science with a major in Photography.
Sultan worked at the Bon Marche (Macy’s). After a 16 year career with them he then opened up his own business, Sultan Landscaping and Gardening.
Sultan and Earnestina Mahtab were married December 21, 1973 in Bellevue Washington. Sultan and Tina went on to have a daughter, Shameem Heyliger.
Sultan loved spending time with his Grandchildren, family, and friends. He loved to make people laugh with his jokes and quick wit. He enjoyed playing the Dholak , a folk percussion, 2 headed hand drum.
Sultan is survived by his wife, Earnestina Mahtab, daughters, Shameem Heyliger and Shahnaaz Mahtab, grandchildren Adonis, Sennai, Maddox, and Idris Heyliger, Jadyn and Imaani Davis, Aaniyah and Aamir Cerf. Sisters, Martha ( Aslam) Wasava and Mariam ( Sajid) Masih. Brother Mahmood Mahtab. Brother-in laws, Arthur ( Sunita) Dean. Stephen ( Dorothy ) Dean. Sister- in- law, Asha Masih.
