Susan Elaine Dow

September 23, 1953 – February 16, 2025

Born in Seattle on September 23, 1953; died February 16, 2025, in Seattle at age 71.

Sue is survived by her husband, Dennis Dow; brothers, Paul (Vicki) Bern and Steve (Sue) Bern; a niece, seven nephews, extended family, and friends. Preceded in death by her twin brother, Larry Bern and her parents, Carl, and Colleen Bern.

Carl, Colleen, Sue and her 3 brothers lived in the Fremont area of Seattle, WA. After graduating from Lincoln High School and attending North Seattle Community College, she married her childhood sweetheart Dennis. They were happily married for 49 years until the moment of her death.

After college, Sue began work at Family Life Insurance in Seattle and remained there for 20 years until the company moved to Texas. She then began work at the Seattle campus of Pima Medical Institute. Because of her leadership skills, she started as an administrator and after 10 years retired as campus director.

Sue knew how to love: family, friends, animals, people. She also realized the importance of kindness in a world where its importance is often overlooked.

Sue was her husband’s best friend, steadfast partner, trusted confidant, and the only woman he ever loved.
