We celebrate the life of Sylvia Moreno, who passed away on January 24, 2025, in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 61. Born in Moses Lake, Washington, Sylvia was the youngest of 12 children and carried a radiant spirit of resilience, kindness, and joy throughout her life.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Sylvia’s warmth and humor left an unforgettable imprint on everyone who knew her. She graduated from Moses Lake High School and later earned an associate’s degree from Columbia Basin College.
Sylvia is survived by her children—Arthur, Alberto, and Angelica—and her cherished grandchildren, Izabelle, Elara, Olivia, and Oona. Her vibrant spirit was reflected in her love for her family, and she was incredibly proud to have nurtured children and grandchildren who embody willfulness, independence, and her laughter.
Her passions were as vibrant as her personality. A loyal supporter of the Seattle Seahawks, Sylvia had a passion for cooking, a fondness for purple flowers, and even a love for Eeyore. Fondly known as the Tia who always “liked and loved” every social media post, she was also known for sharing uplifting and motivational quotes, spreading encouragement and positivity wherever she could.
Throughout the years, Sylvia opened her home with generous hospitality, welcoming many nieces and nephews. Her playful spirit was evident in every aspect of her life—she often looked through the wrong end of the camera, cheerfully mispronounced the “T” in Tsunami, and laughed with a joy that was truly contagious.
Her unexpected passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved her. Her infectious laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends for years to come.
