My first memory of Terrie was when I was on my first or second phone call with Bonnie Bledsoe, a close friend of Terrie's, as Bonnie and I were exploring the possibility of reconnecting after nearly 40 years since we broke up in college. Terrie was spending a few nights with Bonnie in Seattle when I called and, as our conversation turned to a spate of uncontrollable laughter, I heard Terrie remarking about how cool it was that we were so real in our laughter. Somehow that endorsement seemed to bless our decision to reconnect and 12 years later, we are still going strong. It also seemed that I had made an instant new friend.

Terrie was a dear friend of mine for 30 years. I miss her. Terrie had such deep understanding and compassion for people, and was always nonjudgmental. These qualities shown forth from her even if she herself was in discomfort or pain from arthritis or knee ailments. Terrie and I could talk very deeply, about serious issues one of us was having, and we also pivot into laughter and giggles at a moments notice. She had such a bright smile and the cutest giggle. She helped so many people and it was her nature to be of service. We had a mutual friend who was at death's door and Terrie stepped into help, knowing all the right steps to take...finding a hospice, a place for the cremation, the paperwork; I was in over my head but Terrie very steadfastly and gracefully moved us along. I am always deeply grateful to her for that time. Love you, Terrie!!!

Terrie helped us blend our family.
Helped Laurel care for her mother in her last few weeks, even performing an early committment service when we realized she wouldn't make it to our wedding.
She married us. She came to us the night we lost our house in a fire. She encouraged us as parents, and was a supportive companion to our children. She laughed with us, celebrated milestones and holidays with us, and blessed our new home just a few weeks ago.
We are better as individuals and collectively for her presence in our lives.
With deep love and gratitude,
Rich, Laurel, Alex. Connor, Ellie, Kyle, and Zoe

Terrie was one of the most special people in my life and was chosen family. Godmother to my girls, "Auntie Terrie" to all of our kids. We met in 2000, when I was her Hospice Intern. Once our professional connection was behind us, we became friends. She became like a mother to me and it was my pleasure to learn from her, help and love her as she did us.
My most cherished memory is of her assisting me in the birth of my first child.
I had Terrie on one side and my Mama on the other and I will never forget how they cheered, laughed and cried at the sight of her.
Terrie was one of the few people I have known who honestly embodied Love; she made it a verb, she was an Angel on Earth.
The privilege was mine to have had her in my life, and she will live in my heart for the rest of my days.
