Terry Lee Hendrickson

April 30, 1944-July 25, 2026

Terry was born on April 30, 1944 in Seattle, Washington to LeRoy Donald Hendrickson and Catherine Vivian Hendrickson. He was a graduate of Ballard High School, drove trucks for Teamsters and enjoyed traveling to Barrow, Alaska with Bowhead Transportation where he eventually retired. He was a proud father of three girls, three granddaughters and two great grandchildren.

Terry was the kind of guy who could make a friend just about anywhere - and usually did. He had a love for the great outdoors, hockey, horse racing, good music, good people and a great adventure…just to name a few. If there was a trail to hike, a hockey game going on, a Dead concert to see, a beautiful place to explore or just some great festivals to attend, chances are he was happiest there.

A true outdoorsman, Terry found joy in nature and never needed much more than some fresh air, a good view and perhaps a cold drink to call it a great day…but don’t forget the sunshine. He also had a deep love for Maui where the scenery, sunshine and laid back spirit fit him perfectly. Maui wasn’t a place he visited, it was a second home. Then there was the music. A devoted Grateful Dead fan, Terry understood the best way through life was simply ‘let it be’ and in the end he would say ‘what a long strange trip it’s been’.

Friendly, easy going and always ready with a smile or a story Terry never seemed to meet a stranger. He had a way of making people feel welcome and his sense of humor and laid back nature made him someone people enjoyed being around. He lived his life with curiosity, a sense of adventure and appreciation for the simple things. He collected memories, friendships, stories and probably a few questionable souvenirs along the way.

We will miss his smile, his jokes, his stories, his friendships and his unmistakable spirit. We can take comfort in knowing that he is hanging out at the Nona Lani eating some fresh fruit from the market or sitting on the beach taking in the sun with a good book.

May he always have clear sunny skies, good hiking trails and a little Grateful Dead playing in the background.

Terry is survived by his three daughters Teresa Sullivan, Cheryl Hendrickson, Kari (Michael) Wylie, his life partner Jeannine Berger, brother Glenn Hendrickson, sister Gayle (Calvin) Grossen, nephews Eric, Jacob (Laura), and Sean (Kyoko) Hendrickson, Dan (Willow) Grossen and niece Kristi (Peter) Atkins, three grandchildren, Stephany (Chris) Lewis, Tahira Hendrickson, Harmony Guilfoile, great grandchildren Camden and Hailey Lewis, as well as great nieces and nephews, cousins and too many friends, who were just like family to count or list.
