Vera was born in Monroe, WA to Otto and Othelia Hallin. As a small child the family moved to Snoqualmie, WA. Vera graduated from Mt. Si High School in 1946. In 1948 she married Cleo K. Hathaway.
Vera is survived by; daughter Gail (Douglas) Wickre and son-in-law Andrew Bender; 6 grandchildren: Philip Weiss, Daniel Weiss (Brenda), Elaine Collins (Brian), Joe Bender (Sara), Laura Kuperstein (Chris), and Sarah Wickre; 2 great grandsons: Victor Weiss and Nicholas Collins, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her husband Cleo, her daughter Dorinda Lou (Weiss) Bender, son-in-law George Weiss and grandson Matthew Bender.
