Virginia (Ginny) Ruth Burkhart, 84, passed from this life to the next on July 12, 2014 in Everett, Washington. She was born on July 1, 1930 in Erie, Pennsylvania and became a resident of Kirkland, Washington in 1967.
Ginny graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College in Florida and, shortly after, was married to Captain Edward Burkhart who became a pilot in the U. S. Air Force. Their first home was at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. After retirement from the service, Ginny and Ed settled in Kirkland. She was a homemaker, who, with her husband, raised two daughters. She liked to sing, especially hymns--her favorite hymn was "Amazing Grace."
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Valerie and Mike Brooks, and Donna Burkhart; grandchildren, Cameron Brooks, Jordan Brooks and Hailey Hoiland; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Caden and Faith Hoiland; and sisters Anna Cox and Sally Stewart.
