Virginia was born to Irving and Freida Law in Seattle, Washington in 1922. She was raised and lived in and around Seattle her entire life. She attended West Woodland elementary school in Ballard through the 8th grade. After graduating from Queen Anne High School in 1939, Virginia worked for the Army Corps of Engineers until she married her husband of 49 years, Bob Erickson, in 1942. Virginia died peacefully from the complications of Alzheimer's.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 49 years, Bob
Erickson Sr. Virginia is survived by her daughter Mary Boyd husband
David of Sammamish, WA; her sons Bob Jr. wife Sheila of Edmonds, WA; and Steve wife Karen of Seattle, WA; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Virginia is also survived by her brother Irving Law Jr. of Tacoma, WA.
Mom was devoted to her family and lived for the times we were all
together at the many "gatherings" so she could cook, entertain, and
"fuss" over each one of us. We remember mom as a proud, gentle, and beautiful person, inside and out. No matter how difficult a life situation became she always chose self-esteem not self pity.
We loved and cherished our mother and grandmother. We know she's at
peace and with "dad" again, which brings her family great comfort.
As a substitute for flowers please send contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm, Friday, March 2, 2007 at
Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Chapel, Seattle.
