
Walter "Vo" Popoff KING Age 51, fell asleep in the Lord unexpectedly on August 24, 2007. Originally from Kodiak, Alaska, Walter graduated from Ballard High School '74 and then the University of Washington. Vo is preceded in death by his father Al and brother Sacha. He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years Kim, mother Gallina King, sister Irene "Era" King, father-in-law Jerry Garcia and sister-in-law Jania Garcia. He was blessed with a very close extended family, a wonderful circle of friends, a church family who were always part of his life and co-workers who were lasting friends. He truly loved his work at KOMO TV where he worked for thirty-one years as Senior Technical Director. Starting in college as part of an apprentice program to encourage minorities to enter broadcasting, he interned at KOMO and never left. He was fortunate to find his passion early and the drive to excel within his field never diminished. Funeral services will be held at St. Spiridon Orthodox Cathedral, 400 Yale Ave. North, Seattle, WA 98109.
