
Born in Snoqualmie Falls, WA on December 8, 1925 and died peacefully November 3, 2001 in his home. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Irene L. Banks, a brother Raymond of San Diego and sister Nancy Zecha of Seattle. His four loving sons and their spouses: Steve Teresa, Mike Mary, Thom Karen, Jeff Elena; his precious grandchildren, Rusty and Jamie Heinrichsen, Tyler, Nicholas, Jenna, Willie Madison, Carly, Kevin and Sarah Banks; Also 3 great granddaughters, Cheyanne, Willow and Winter and many nieces and nephews. And a great many admirers! Bill was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandson Joseph. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy, where he served in the South Pacific and Mare Island as a Medical Corpsman. He married his best friend and soul mate Irene L. Zimmerman in Seattle on August 2, 1947. They were lovers to the end. After his stint in the service he worked as a dental technician, later drove a laundry truck for New Richmond Laundry for 35 years-only missing a couple days of work. His first love was his family, ever proud of his four sons. He enjoyed all sports, playing and refereeing ice hockey for many years. He also coached little league, baseball, hockey and was a Cub Scout leader. He loved music and followed Dixieland genre. He lived in Seattle 60 years and after retirement moved to Ocean Shores for 13 years returning to Seattle a year ago. A loving husband, father and grandfather. Loved by all who knew him. Memorial services Monday, November 12, 2001, 12:00 Noon at the Living Way Church, 400 N. 105th, Seattle. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of choice.
