William (Bill) passed away June 4, 2014 in Stanwood, WA, at the age of 85. He was born March 16, 1929 in Seattle, WA, the son of Charles and Florence Chase. William graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1947 and the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1950. He enjoyed a very successful career as a civil and structural engineer and was the President and CEO of Hill, Ingman, and Chase & Co., Consulting Engineers, and of its successor firm, URS Co. from 1960-1982. He also served on the board of numerous companies including Pacific National Bank (precursor to Washington Mutual Bank) and civic organizations including the Seattle Opera . He was a long standing member of the Young Presidents Organization and Rotary International. He was active in his community and church in Seattle and Camano Island. William married Jeanette Moyle in 1950 and together they enjoyed 60 years of marriage until her passing in 2010. William is survived by his children Barbara (Les) Peterson, James (Jeanie) Chase, and Richard Chase along with 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
