
Born on January 6, 1921 in Sanish, North Dakota. He was one of seven children born to David and Florence Gibb. Bill moved to the Seattle area when he was three years old. He graduated from Lincoln High School. He joined the US Marine Corps serving during WWII. Bill met the love of his life, Betty. They married on June 19, 1943. Bill was a hard working man. He found his life long career as a foundry man in a Navy shipyard in Bremerton. He started his own business, North Star Casteel in 1972. He served on the board of directors for the steel founders, and was a regional president of AFS. Bill also found time to have fun. He was a big supporter of U of W athletics, a season ticket holder in both basketball and football. He enjoyed gardening, growing fuchsias was his specialty. He belonged to many gardening societies. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor. He was very optimistic and was known as a caregiver, always assuring others that everything will work out. Bill passed away on March 26, 2002 in Kent, Washington. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife Betty, son Bill Gibb and his wife Joyce, daughter Nancy Gray and husband Kurt, grandchildren Rohan, Sterling, and Laura, sisters Florence Shasky, and Barbara Corvi. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 1, 2002 at 12 Noon, Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave N., Seattle.
