Yee Chow was born in Toishan, China on December 9, 1931. He grew up and attended school in Toishan. In 1963, Yee married Anna Suet Wo, and the couple immigrated to Seattle in 1969. They created a loving family atmosphere for their two children, John and Willy, who became the center of their lives. Yee was a devoted father, while also working for many years as a chef. Yee is survived by his two sons John (wife Grace) and Willy (wife Tuyen) and his three granddaughters Rachel, Christina and Brianna.
Yee took his family and work responsibilities seriously, but also had a bright and playful personality. Some of his hobbies were wagering on and watching horse racing, gardening, and watching Seahawks and the Sonics. One of his favorite pastimes was exploring Seattle and hanging out with his three granddaughters. He was a very good cook, his favorite foods being steamed fish, steak and fresh broccoli. But it was his tender, delicious Thanksgiving turkey and egg tart pie that was the most anticipated and special treat for his family and friends.
His easy smile, and caring, loving nature warmed all who knew him. In his last months, this part of his personality did not falter - his unselfish concern for his family, over his own well-being, was his priority. He is loved and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
